Jude, his Grandma Forbes and I built a gingerbread train today. Tonight Jude did something he has never done before. He shoved a candy from the train up his nose. Jude came up to me and Andy and said “there is candy up my nose.” He said that he tried to get it out, but couldn’t. My first reaction was surprise and I asked Jude if he was serious. When he confirmed that he was serious, my second reaction was to laugh and reach for the video camera. Unfortunately, it was dead. I found a flashlight and verified it was really up there. I thought about trying to pry it out with a tweezer and call the nurseline to confirm the approach. I was worried we’d end up in the hospital again. My last thought was to plug his empty nostril and have him blow his nose as hard as he could. Thankfully, the candy came shooting out. Little Jude learned an important lesson tonight.
