Last Friday was my first day back to work after maternity leave.  I was so worried about how Andy was going to handle 4 kids and manage to get Jude to OT for handwriting by 9 a.m.  I called him later that morning to see how it had gone.  He had totally gotten about OT.

“I think I now know why Dads love their daughters so much.  You marry your wife and she’s the most beautiful thing in your world.  Then you have a daughter and she looks like your beautiful wife but with a little bit of you mixed in.”

To me, “You and Abby are pretty.”

So today Abby managed to poop through clothes, my shirt, pants and my underwear.  That’s a new one for me.

“I want to quit!” (Referring to swimming lessons.)

Asher was admiring Abby in the swing today.  Among the many things he said to her was, “You are not the master.  God is.  Trust Him.”

One of my many nicknames for Abby is the “one sock wonder.”  I named her this because she usually has only one sock on.  Whenever I see her in her one sock glory, I can’t help but bust out into a catchy jingle I composed that goes, “She’s the one sock wonder.  She only has …
