Asher’s Quotes of the Day

1. “Are those chocolate chips good for the baby?”

2. “God is making my baby right now inside your tummy.”

3. While Asher and I were gazing into each others eyes:

Asher: “You have Ashers in your eyes.”

Me: “You have Mommys in your eyes.”

Asher: “So if you love a person, you have them in your eyes?”

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be

Jude (8): “A super hero or one of those people that studies/digs for dinosaur bones, or the President or a guy in the army.”

Levi (5): “A President.” After hearing what Jude and Asher had to say, Levi wanted to amend his answer to also be a seller and a super hero and one of those guys that digs for dinosaur bones.

Asher (3-1/2): “A seller” (“I want to sell things to people when I grow up.”)

Another Baby

Thankfully, I don’t think anyone really reads this blog.  So, I can’t see any harm in posting our big news — we’re expecting another baby.  I had been suspecting/hoping I was pregnant for a couple weeks.  The day after Jude pointed to my stomach and asked if that was fatness or a baby, I decided it was time to find out.  It was a Friday and I was working from home.  I had no home pregnancy tests so I collected my morning pee (which is always the best for early pregnancy detection) in a syringe to save it for later.  Late in the afternoon, while Levi was in karate, Jude and I ran to the dollar store and picked up 2 pregnancy tests.  He was so excited about the toys I got him that he didn’t notice my purchases.  We then went to the car.  I grabbed my syringe full of pee and dropped 4 drops of pee on the test and it immediately indicated I was pregnant.  I was pretty excited so I impulsively decided to tell Jude.  I got a video of his early reaction.  We then picked up Levi from karate and went back to the dollar store.  Without telling Levi that we were having a baby, I asked him that if God gives us a baby, does he want a boy baby or a girl baby.  He originally answered that he wanted a girl baby for Asher.  Jude indicated that he wanted a boy baby and then he talked Levi into wanting a boy baby.  We picked up 3 helium balloons.  One for a baby girl (for Asher) and two for baby boys for Jude and Levi.  The plan was to have the boys give the balloons to Andy and announce the news to him that way.  It ended up not nearly as cool as I had hoped.  When we got home, Asher was sleeping so we had to wake him up.  Jude was so excited to break the news that he ran the balloon to Andy and blurted out the news with his brothers no where in sight.  Asher ended up dropping his balloon.  Andy’s reaction was not what I was hoping for and it was clear that he just wanted the camera out of his face.  I know he’ll end up loving the baby, but I’d be lying if I said he was excited (but that’s nothing new when it comes to expanding our family).
