Asher’s Quote of the Day

Asher is typically so articulate, but we’re not always sure if he knows what he is saying.  Today the little shorty would be standing on the ground with his arms reaching up to me saying, “I want to hold you!”

Jude’s Quote of the Day

Jude sure knows how to win an argument.  He and Levi were arguing back and forth about something — maybe Angry Birds — and Jude finally said, “Don’t say ‘but’ or anything.  I’m going to come up with an argument so you are just wasting your time.”  Levi obediently hushed up and didn’t even try to get his point across.

Scan Day

We got great results on Jude’s brain and spine MRI today. I had the customary scanxiety for a few weeks in advance and it was particularly bad today, while waiting for the results. Just Jude and I went and left the others at home sleeping. Jude did a great job. The nurses just loved him since he is so entertaining and they did not want to put him to sleep. I worked during the scan and his recovery (wake-up) period. After the scan, we bought his soccer jersey at the community center and then went home to get the rest of the family and head to meet with the oncologist. After some tense waiting, we got the great news. Relieved for another few months!!!

Jude’s Quote of the Day

Jude and I had to get up early for his brain and spine MRI today. I was backing out of the garage before I was fully awake. I hit the recycling bin on the way out of the garage by turning a little too sharply or not sharply enough. Can’t remember. Anyway, Jude knew right away what the problem was and told me and then said, “”I may just be a 6 year old kid, but I know about driving.”

My Sister is Famous

My little sister, a Ph.D. and Assistant Professor of Biology at NDSU, was featured on a national TV commercial for NDSU. She and I used to play school all the time growing up. I was 2 years ahead of her and I was always the teacher and she was always the student. So, she was always 2 years ahead of where she should have been academically. Thus, I like to take credit for her enormous success.

Check out my sister’s TV commercial, that features her and her students:

Our New Urinal

Andy has always told me that if we ever build a new house, he would definitely put a urinal in it. Little does he know that we apparently already have one. I caught Levi tonight peeing into the sink in the upstairs bathroom. Yuck!

Levi’s Quote of the Day

It’s 11 p.m. and Levi is struggling to stay awake while watching Planet 51 auf Deutsch. He told Andy, “If you want to watch a movie, you have to keep your eyes open.” Nothing cuter than Levi stating the obvious!
