I took the kids to Litchfield for the weekend so we could celebrate my brother’s birthday and I could work all weekend without the boys recognizing it. Â My mom and the boys spent time gazing at the moon and Venus and it inspired my mom and Jude to write some poetry

The Moon
by Jude Olson
In the blue pretty sky over the trees is the creamy milky moon.
Oh sky, oh sky oh what you hold. For that’s what you have and need.
The moon so pretty and it will be there,
While I sleep inside in despair.

The Moon
by Grandma
Moon, oh beautiful moon
I hope to see you soon
Shining bright
show us your light
so we can say goodnight
The moon is full
and the oceans feel its pull
The light from the moon fills the room
Against a dark blue sky
I regret to say goodbye
